JOY MA! @ [REM]EMBER for Prairie Underground
JOY MA! @ [REM]EMBER for Prairie Underground[REM]EMBER is an installation conceptualized by artist, Mia Imani Harrison, that challenges hypercapitalism and the labor valued under hypercapitalism that prevents Black and other marginalized bodies from engaging in radical rest. JOY MA! was the featured sound artist and music curator for the multiple iterations of these installations as well as a creative contributor and member of the installation team. “A revolution is happening as you enter the dream chrysalis and there is no better time to actively participate in our realities manifested than  through this curated soundscape. Please join JOY MA! as they rock you to rest with electromagnetic waves recorded from intergalactic atmospheres translated into sounds, manipulated tuning forks, sampled sound files displaying moments of Black joy, previously recorded dreams from past iterations of [REM]EMBER and dreamy tunes spanning multiple time periods. “
